Your Guide, Supporter, Advocate, Empathetic Ear, Facilitator & Sounding Board.

YOU ARE READY FOR A LANUA MENTOR IF:

You know the problems you would like to address

You are open to advice (especially if it’s difficult to hear)

You are looking for ongoing support

BENEFITS OF HAVING A MENTOR

“A Mentor can be defined as a guide, advocate, empathetic ear, supporter, facilitator, sounding board or a catalyst for change.”

(BMNZ). An experienced mentor is crucial to the development and execution of a successful business strategy.

A mentor can also:

  • Help in developing greater confidence

  • Provide a soundboard for discussing ideas, when you're not ready to discuss these issues with employees

  • Believe in you and your ability

  • Give advice without emotional involvement in your business, which is a tricky one for business owners

  • Help to make the appropriate choices and sacrifices by working out what you really want from your life and work

  • Challenge your organisation’s thinking and be challenged in your own beliefs.

HOW IT WORKS

  • Introductory meeting to understand your goals and strategic plan

  • Meeting regularly (usually bi-weekly) initially to define the needs of the mentee and starting to deal with the most urgent issues. This will include a review of the actions you’re taking and whether it’s achieving the desired results.

  • As the mentoring starts to deliver results, the catch-up usually moves to a monthly cycle
